Schools Recommendation Schemes

Schools Recommendation Scheme offers

SRS applications for 2026 will open Wed 8 Apr for domestic Year 12 students and 22 Apr for international Year 12 students.

The Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) is one way institutions make early offers of undergraduate admission to Year 12 students, using criteria other than (or in addition to) the ATAR.

Offers will be made on 12 November 2026

Domestic students can receive:

  • one unconditional offer
  • one or more conditional offers.

Your SRS application will also be considered in subsequent offer rounds before ATARs are released.

International students can receive one or more unconditional offers. Your SRS application will only be considered in the 12 November round of offers.

If you receive an unconditional offer you do not need to meet any further condition/s. If you receive conditional offers, you'll need to meet additional condition/s, such as a minimum ATAR, submitting a portfolio or attending an audition. Details will be outlined in the offer email.

Institutions consider your course preferences according to the order in which you list them. All your preferences are given equal consideration.

While UAC coordinates SRS, the institutions decide who receives an offer, not UAC. We won’t contact you if you don’t receive an SRS offer.

If you’re not selected for an unconditional offer for your first preference, you’ll be considered equally with all other eligible applicants for your second preference and so on.

Notification

Your unconditional offer will be sent to you by email.

To accept your unconditional offer, follow the instructions set out in your offer email. You must accept your offer by the date specified by the institution, otherwise you may lose your offer.

Conditional SRS offers require you to meet other condition/s before the institution will make you an unconditional offer. These condition/s may include a minimum ATAR, course prerequisites, a personal statement, a portfolio, an audition, an interview or a test. Conditional SRS offers will only be made in November Round 1 and can be made to any preference.

Notification

Your conditional offer will be sent to you by email. You can also access it by logging in to your UAC application for undergraduate admission and selecting ‘View correspondence’.

To convert your conditional offer to an unconditional offer, you must:

  • meet the condition/s stipulated in the offer
  • meet all other institution requirements for that course
  • include the course in your list of preferences by the change of preference deadline for December Round 2.

It is possible to receive more than one conditional offer, but only one of them can become an unconditional offer in December Round 2.

If you receive more than one conditional offer, once your ATAR is released you can determine if you meet the criteria for those offers. You will then need to decide which course preference you would most like to convert into an unconditional offer.

Place the course that you would most like to convert into an unconditional offer at the top of your list of preferences by the December Round 2 change of preference deadline. By this date you will have received your ATAR, so if a minimum ATAR is one of the conditions you will know if you have met it.

Once you’ve received an unconditional offer, you can’t be made an unconditional offer to any lower course preferences in the next round unless you change your preferences.

So, to receive further offers in subsequent rounds, you first need to accept the course you’ve already been offered, then move that course down to the bottom of your list of course preferences or remove it entirely. (As long as you have accepted an offer, removing it from your list of preferences will not affect your existing offer.)

Alternatively, if you receive an unconditional offer to a lower preference, you will automatically be considered for higher preferences in the next round.

To change your preferences, log in to your UAC application and go to ‘Course preferences’.

If you then receive an offer to a course in your new list, you can decide whether to accept it and withdraw from your original course, or not accept the new offer and keep your place in your original course.
