Inquiry into the factors driving educational attainment: UAC submission
UAC has made a submission in response to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education's inquiry into the factors driving educational attainment.
The submission shows that, in general, females apply to UAC, receive an offer and enrol at university in higher numbers than their male counterparts. Females also obtain greater ATAR results in almost every category between 45 and 98 and possess a higher median ATAR. For students who receive a similar ATAR, female students also generally achieve a higher first year GPA than male students.
