Top 10 most in-demand courses for 2024

FIRST semester at uni is underway for 2023 Year 12 students and the stats are in for their most favoured courses through UAC for 2024. This year sees the usual mix of medicine, business and society and culture with two new entries in these fields.

Information released today by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) shows that the combined Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine course at UNSW Sydney is once again at the top of the list with 1,408 first preferences. Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology Sydney retains second spot with 1,057 preferences. The Doctor of Medicine joint program at Western Sydney University and Charles Sturt University moves to third spot with 877 preferences.

The Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine joint medical program at University of Newcastle and University of New England retains its spot in the top 10.

The University of Sydney’s Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws once again make an appearance along with the Bachelor of Nursing at UTS.

Newcomers to the list are UNSW’s Bachelor of Double Law and Bachelor of Commerce.

UAC applications will open again on Wednesday 3 April for courses starting later in 2024 and first semester 2025.
