Supporting Universities Accord targets to get more students to uni
YEAR 12 is a demanding time for students – especially those facing personal, health or other challenges that may affect their learning.
UAC (Universities Admissions Centre) is supporting these students and ensuring a fairer pathway to university education through the Educational Access Scheme (EAS).
So far this year, more than 9,000 students have applied for EAS. An additional 4,600 students have received automatic consideration based on their residence or school attendance in a low socio-economic area.
EAS ensures individual circumstances are considered in the admissions process, giving students a fairer chance of receiving a university offer. It also aligns with the government’s commitment, through the Universities Accord and the newly established Australian Tertiary Education Commission, to raise equity group participation and attainment in tertiary education.
With school holidays underway, now is the perfect time for Year 12 students to begin their EAS application and gather the necessary supporting documentation – ahead of trials and final exams.
