More uni offers released today

09 Jan 2025

MANY hopeful applicants have secured a place at university in 2025 with the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) releasing a further 13,700 offers today. This round includes the first offers for highly sought-after courses such as medicine.

More than 17,900 applicants changed their preferences for this round, hoping to secure an offer to their preferred course.

Offers were made to 1,329 different courses with the top areas of study being Society and Culture, Health, and Management and Commerce. Most offers, 84 per cent, were made to Year 12 students.

UAC Interim Managing Director Kim Paino says it’s an important time for students finalising their plans for this year.

‘Congratulations to those students who have received an offer and are looking forward to starting university. For those who missed out, I encourage them to explore courses that still have vacancies for the next offer round. There are also many alternative pathways available to help them get to university and study their preferred course.'

Details of the lowest selection rank for entry into each course are on UAC's website. Institutions have also indicated whether each course is likely to still have vacancies.

The next offer round (January Round 2) is on Thursday 23 January. Applicants need to finalise their preferences for that round by 11.59pm on Thursday 16 January.

For those who haven’t applied, it’s not too late, applications for first semester study are open until 11.59pm on Friday 7 February.
