Study pharmacy online with a new hybrid degree: commencing 2027

New for 2027, Charles Sturt University’s Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) offers a flexible, future focused pathway into the pharmacy profession. Designed to support Australia’s evolving health workforce, this innovative degree allows students to study clinical pharmacy online from anywhere, making it easier to balance study with work, family, or regional living.

The course is delivered through a hybrid learning model, combining online study with intensive, block-mode practical experiences on campus at Charles Sturt’s Orange campus. These hands-on intensives are carefully embedded across the course, ensuring students develop the practical skills and professional confidence required for contemporary pharmacy practice.

Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine) / Doctor of Medicine: applications now open

Applications are now open through UAC for Charles Sturt University’s new Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine) / Doctor of Medicine, with applications closing on 25 September 2026.  Please note that UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) registrations, a key part of the process, close on 15 May 2026.

This standalone medicine program offers a supported, integrated pathway from undergraduate to postgraduate study and is designed to prepare future doctors for contemporary medical practice, with a strong focus on clinical science, patient-centred care, and working with regional and rural communities.

Graduates of the program will develop the knowledge, skills and professional capabilities required to practice as a medical doctor in Australia.

Careers in Agriculture, Animals and the Environment: online information nights

Join Charles Sturt University for their Careers in Agriculture, Animals and the Environment online information nights and explore study pathways, hear real stories from industry, grads and students and start turning possibilities into plans. There are two online info nights running across 26 to 27 May, ideal for high school students in Year 11 or 12. Parents, carers, careers advisors and teachers are also welcome.

Course Info Night

A chance to explore courses and experience student life at Collarts’ new Sydney campus, specialising in 2D animation, acting, graphic design, digital and social media, screen and media, stage management, interior design, fashion, music production and more.

Online Chat

At the May Online Chat Session, the CQUniversity team will give students guidance about their course of interest, pathway options, student support services, or anything they might like to know about studying with CQU.

All they need to do is head over to our CQUniversity Facebook page and send CQU a message during the session. They’ll receive real-time answers to all of their questions.

New course name: Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship and Innovation)

Interactive workshops in marketing, fashion, events, and information technology

ICMS is hosting four interactive workshops for high school students interested in exploring a career in the following fields: marketing, fashion, events, and information technology. The sessions will be held in the July school holidays at the ICMS Northern Beaches campus in Manly. Registrations are essential. Learn more about the interactive workshops

JMC School Holiday Experience Day (Sydney): 11 Jul

Students can have all their questions answered at JMC Sydney – Harris Street campus, by talking to academics and industry professionals, seeking guidance about turning their creative passions into a career, engaging in up to two workshops on the day in their course discipline of interest, engaging with student panels, and taking a tour of the campus. 

Workshops include:
  • Acting: Students can engage in an immersive masterclass exploring improvisation, character creation and story in performance.
  • Animation: Students can create their own short 2D Animation with ToonBoom Harmony and JMC’s Wacom Cintiq tablets, where they will learn basic principles of animation to move static art to motion.
  • Music: Students can use loops, samples and Midi programming to create textures over which to map a melody and lyrics in JMC’s Midi Room.
  • Audio Engineering: A hands-on masterclass in music production in JMC's MIDI room, where students can learn drum timing correction, vocal pitch adjustment, and MIDI editing techniques.
  • Film and Television: A rotational experience through JMC's Studio and Edit Lab, where students get to learn skills such as madlib style, script shooting and editing.
  • Game Design: Students can explore ideas behind games and create their own functional level in Unreal Engine. In this workshop, they will start from a blank canvas to breathe life into their own world.
  • Musical Theatre: A practical masterclass where students get to explore ensemble and song in performance.
  • Entertainment Business Management: Students will create a concept for a wild, imaginative music or arts festival. They develop a mood board for a headline artist (real or fictional) and explore themes, audience, and aesthetic.

Changes to Adjustment Factors

  • Macquarie Catchment and regional adjustment factors: These are no longer available. Regional students may be eligible for adjustment factors through the Educational Access Scheme. Apply directly through UAC.
  • FIRST Robotics Australia adjustment factors: These are no longer offered. However, students who have participated in FIRST Robotics Australia competitions can include this as a recognised extra-curricular activity in their application to the Macquarie Leaders and Achievers Early Entry Scheme.
  • Academic Advantage adjustment factors: This scheme will be replaced by a new initiative, Subject Advantage Entry, which also replaces the Academic Entry Pathway. This merit-based pathway considers a student’s performance in specific Year 12 subjects aligned with their chosen Macquarie degree. Further details, including eligibility and participating courses will be available soon.

Packaged health degrees at Macquarie

Prospective students interested in a career in healthcare can now bundle an offer for Macquarie’s Bachelor of Clinical Science with a postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy, Clinical Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology, or Public Health. This provides a single, fast-tracked pathway into a healthcare career. They are encouraged to book a personalised consultation to learn more.

Pathway programs

At UNE, there’s more than one way for students to start their university journey. If students don’t feel quite ready to jump straight into university study, UNE has created a range of pathway options to help them build their skills and confidence first.

  • UNE’s Foundation Program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence to excel in tertiary study, giving them up to two units of credit towards up to 25 different bachelor degrees. The program is delivered fully online and is fee-free, allowing students to explore university-level study without incurring HECS debt.
  • The TRACKS Indigenous Foundation Program is a fee-free university preparation program run by the Oorala Aboriginal Centre, designed to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people build the skills and confidence they need to take on a course at UNE. On successful completion students will be eligible to apply for a range of UNE undergraduate courses. They’ll be guided by UNE's experienced staff and belong to a strong community of students, providing them with all the support they need throughout the course.
  • Open entry diplomas are one-year courses (or part-time equivalent) don’t require an ATAR and provide guaranteed entry into related bachelor degrees, receiving up to 8 units of credit (48 credit points). Open entry diplomas are a practical and supportive way for students to reach their goals while building a strong academic foundation.

Completion of the Foundation Program and TRACKS Indigenous Foundation Program allows students entry into any undergraduate degrees with entry ATARs of up to 77.10. Find out more about UNE pathway programs

Scholarships

UNE scholarships are available for students who come from rural or remote areas, belong to a disadvantaged group, are studying specific degrees, who excel at sport, or who live in a residential college, as well as those who have achieved high academic results.

UNE strongly encourages students to apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for, as applications are free to submit. More information and eligibility criteria for each scholarship

Expos and events

While Open Day has wrapped up for the year, the UNE team is still travelling to meet with students at various locations over the next six months. UNE will be attending university expos from South Queensland to Victoria to help students explore thier study options and answer any questions. UNE is also proud to be the 2026 education partners at AgQuip and FarmFest, which will be a great chance to chat about about their flexible learning and student support.

Notre Dame Study Centres in Oran Park and Auburn

Notre Dame is now offering courses towards certain undergraduate degrees through the Notre Dame Study Centres in Oran Park and Auburn. In their first year, students can choose to complete two courses at the Study Centre and two at Broadway campus. Study Centre lectures are delivered online, combined with in-person tutorials, featuring small group learning and pastoral support. Online Info Nights  

Students in Years 10 to 12, and their caregivers and teachers, are invited to explore their future at the University of Sydney’s online Info Nights. These sessions provide an opportunity to learn how the University of Sydney supports students in shaping their study and career pathways. 

Participants will hear from expert staff and current students, with the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A.

Year 10 Info Night: 11 June  

This session is designed to help students navigate the subject selection process and prepare for their journey to university. Topics will include key considerations when selecting subjects for Years 11 and 12, how subject choices can impact adjustment factors, what the ATAR is and how it’s calculated, prerequisites and assumed knowledge, tips for admission and scholarships, and first-hand insights from current students on their subject selection experiences and transition to university.

The UniGlobal Undergraduate Online Open House for international students – 16 May

International students are invited to the University of Sydney’s online Open House to discover what undergraduate study at the University of Sydney could look like. Sessions are tailored to students’ areas of interest and include insights into how AI is being integrated into learning to prepare them for future careers. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore scholarships, learn about student life and connect with course experts during a live Q&A.

Webinar Wednesday series  

Designed for students in Years 10 to 12, the Webinar Wednesday series offers insights into studying a wide range of degrees at the University of Sydney, with guidance on preparing for university and choosing the right course. Upcoming Term 2 sessions will cover admission pathways and entry schemes, mathematical sciences, teaching, advanced computing, business, and more.

The University of Sydney will also host a ‘Scholarships at Sydney’ webinar on Wed 29 Jul. This session will provide prospective students with an overview of the range of scholarships available at the University of Sydney, along with guidance on application processes and tips on how to strengthen a scholarship application. Students will be able to register for the webinar via the Undergraduate events page in June. 


Women in Engineering Scholarship Info Night – 3 Jun 

The University of Sydney is investing $2 million in scholarships for women in engineering in 2027. Students in Year 11 or 12 who are considering studying engineering, computer science, or project management are invited to attend the Women in Engineering Info Night. This event offers the opportunity to hear from inspiring students and academic leaders, explore the career pathways these degrees can lead to, and discover a supportive community where women are empowered to lead, innovate and thrive.

New programs for 2027

  • Bachelor of Design: The new Bachelor of Design is a studio-based, industry-connected degree that replaces the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) from Autumn 2027. It prepares students to become strategic creators in a rapidly evolving digital world, with specialisations in Branding and Strategy, Data and Digital Storytelling, or UX/UI Design. Students work on real briefs with industry partners from day one, building a professional portfolio before they graduate while developing future-ready creative skills.
  • Bachelor of Laws: The reimagined Bachelor of Laws replaces the Bachelor of Laws (Non-graduate entry) from Autumn 2027 and offers a more practical, hands-on approach to legal education. Students gain real-world experience working on cases before they graduate, with a strong focus on advocacy, client interaction, and legal problem-solving. The degree also integrates technology and contemporary legal practices to prepare graduates for the future of the profession.
  • Bachelor of Exercise Science: Replaces the Bachelor of Health (Sport and Exercise Science) from Autumn 2027 and explores how the human body responds to movement, exercise, and training. With a strong emphasis on practical learning and industry placements, students gain experience working with real clients while developing skills in exercise assessment, prescription, and performance. The degree also provides a foundation for further study in allied health fields.
  • Bachelor of Health, Physical Education, and Sport: This new combined degree replaces the Bachelor of Health and Physical Education and the Bachelor of Sport Development from Autumn 2027. It prepares students to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of young people through education and sport, with hands-on learning across schools and community settings. Students develop skills in health education, physical education, and sport program delivery, with strong pathways into teaching, coaching, and community health careers.
  • Bachelor of Sport and Performance Science: A new program designed for students interested in high-performance sport and athlete development. Combining sport science, data analysis, and hands-on experience, students learn how to optimise performance, prevent injury, and support athletes and high-performing teams. With extensive industry placements, the program prepares graduates for careers in elite sport and broader high-performance environments.
  • Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology: A new specialised degree focused on exercise as medicine, preparing students for careers in allied health. With 500 hours of clinical placements, students gain hands-on experience across healthcare settings, learning to support people with chronic disease, injury, and complex conditions through evidence-based exercise programs. Graduates are well positioned for a high-demand career improving health outcomes and quality of life.

The 2026 Discover Western webinar series includes sessions aimed at educators, parents and students. Topics include early offer programs, alternative entry, scholarships and what life as a student is like at Western Sydney University.

Kirby Cup High School Competition 2026

Western Sydney University’s School of Law invites high schools to participate in the Kirby Cup 2026, a mooting competition designed to introduce students to legal advocacy and courtroom procedure.

Open to Year 10 and 11 students, teams will develop written submissions and present oral arguments in a simulated court setting, building skills in critical thinking, persuasive communication, and teamwork.

The 2026 theme, Protest, Freedom and the Language of Law, challenges students to explore the balance between individual rights and public order. Top teams will progress to the finals, with the opportunity to present before former High Court Justice Michael Kirby. Participation is free, with preliminary rounds held online in October and finals in November. 

Entry and Support Programs at Western

Experience Music @ Western

Join Western for the Bachelor of Music 2027 Audition Day on Friday 17 July. This event includes early entry interviews for students seeking a place in the program, alongside studio tours, information sessions, and hands-on workshops exploring music performance, composition, sound technologies, music theory, musicology, arranging, and music analysis.

It’s a valuable opportunity for Year 12 students, parents and teachers to experience the program firsthand and participate in course entry interviews on the day. Students attending interviews should bring their instrument and any relevant creative work such as recordings or scores. Applicants are encouraged to prepare a performance that best showcases their ability. For example, ‘makers’ of music show a prepared recording and perform a piece or ‘players’ of music perform two short, contrasting pieces or songs (or excerpts of two pieces). Works may be original, compositions or covers, and can be performed solo, with accompanying musicians, or with backing tracks from a phone or laptop.
