What's new
Bachelor of Arts Western Civilisation
Direct applications opened on 16 June, and ACU has made some changes to improve the application process:
- Assessment: Students will now be assessed based on a combination of factors: their most recent academic transcript, a CV with references, a written sample essay, and an interview.
- Interviews and offers: ACU will now be offering up to four interview and offer rounds, starting from September through to early 2026. The timing of each round will depend on the number of scholarship places still available, so we encourage early applications.
- Scholarship: To be considered for the scholarship – valued at up to $160,000 – students must apply directly to ACU. While they can still apply through UAC for the course itself, they’ll need to complete an additional application component directly with ACU if they want to be considered for the scholarship.
- Webinar for students: ACU is hosting a student and parent webinar (Tue 19 Aug), which will cover the program in detail, along with interview tips and scholarship advice – please encourage interested students to register.
Foundation Studies
When students apply for Foundation Studies at ACU, they will be offered either the accelerated or full program map, depending on their previous educational experience.
New course structure:
- Accelerated: 4 units over 1 or 2 semesters
- Full Program: 8 units over 2 semesters
- Semester 1 or 2 intake available from 2026.
Vocational education and training pathways
Students don’t need to start uni straight away. With ACU's updated pathway, students can now use their Certificate III for direct entry, with no need to combine it with Year 12. Whether they're planning a gap year or just want some breathing room, their Certificate III still counts when they’re ready to start their degree at ACU.
