Western Sydney University

English language proficiency

Western Sydney University recognises a number of English language tests as proof of English language proficiency. These are set out in the following tables, together with the minimum results required.

PTE Online, IELTS Online, TOEFL iBT home edition and OET@Home tests are not assessed.

Make sure you also read about qualifications that usually satisfy ELP.

Contact the Western Sydney University Admissions Office if you have completed one of the following:

  • A minimum of four years of Australian secondary studies but you were not eligible for an ATAR or equivalent.
  • Australian university studies at bachelor level or higher, where the minimum full-time equivalence is one semester.
  • Completed overseas university studies, within the last 10 years, where the minimum full-time equivalence is one year and the medium of instruction of the course was English. Your qualification will be assessed by the university on a case-by-case basis.
