UAC is providing the following schools data for stakeholders in the Educational Access Schemes (EAS) program, compiled from publicly available sources. UAC categorises schools in rural and regional areas of Australia according to criteria provided by its participating institutions and based on data sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Google maps.

Disadvantage code S01C

A school is included in educational disadvantage code S01C where the school is:

  • a rural school in a town with a population of less than 10,000 people and a distance of at least 100km from the nearest centre with a population of 10,000, or
  • a rural school in a town with a population of less than 5,000 people and a distance between 50km and 99km from the nearest centre with a population of 10,000.

Changes to disadvantage code S01E

The S01E school list has been discontinued from 2019 onward. It has been replaced with AG01 (SEIFA) which is an automated EAS application.

Disadvantage code S01R

A school is included in educational disadvantage code S01R where the school:

  • is not listed in S01C

AND

  • the postcode for the physical location of the school is classified as Inner Regional or Outer Regional or Remote or Very Remote by the Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) system as provided by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
