Promoter

1. The promoter of the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition is the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) (ABN: 19 070 055 935, Locked Bag 112, Silverwater NSW 2128.

2. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any other entity other than UAC. Entrants to the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition are providing their information to UAC only. Please check the terms and conditions of use of any external entity used to enter this competition. Each entrant to the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition releases and indemnifies any other entity other than UAC from any liability connected with the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition, as applicable.

Promotion Period

3. The UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition will run from Friday 8 November 2024 at 12.01am AEST and closes on Sunday 12 January 2025 at 11.59pm AEST. Any entry to the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition that is received outside this period will be deemed an ‘invalid entry’.

Eligibility

Entry in the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition is open to all Australian students who completed Year 12 in 2024, excluding current employees of UAC and their immediate families.

4. Any UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition entrant who is under 18 years old must have the permission of their parent or guardian to enter the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition. For any winner under 18 years, the prize will be awarded to their parent or guardian on their behalf.

5. Current employees of UAC and their immediate family members are ineligible to enter the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition.

6. UAC reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition entrants (including an entrant’s identity and birth date) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry to the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition that is not in accordance with the eligibility requirements of these Terms and Conditions (Ineligible Entrant). If UAC only discovers an Ineligible Entrant after UAC has announced that Ineligible Entrant as a prize winner of the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition, UAC may require the prompt return of the prize or repayment of its value to UAC, as applicable.

Competition Rules

How to enter

7. To take part in the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition, entrants must:
a) complete all questions in the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey; and
b) provide valid contact details.

Determination and announcement of winners and award of prizes

8. In relation to the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition:
a) Valid entries will be chosen at random for a prize.
b) UAC will post the names of the prize winners for the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition on this page no later than Tuesday 25 February 2025.
c) UAC will notify prize winners by email.

Prizes

9. Prizes will only be awarded following winner validation and verification. UAC’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

10. The following prizes will be awarded for the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition:
a) 1 x prize consisting of 2 prepaid Mastercards with a combined value of $500
b) 1 x prize consisting of a $250 prepaid Mastercard
c) 5 x prizes consisting of a $100 prepaid Mastercard.

11. If any prize (or any part of a prize) is unavailable, UAC, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.

12. UAC reserves the right to award a lesser number or no awards if the eligibility criterion is not met.

13. All prize items awarded for the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition are valued inclusive of GST and UAC takes no responsibility for any variation in item values. Any tax payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received will be the winner's responsibility. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

14. To claim their prize, winners must respond to UAC’s notification email. Winners will have until 11.59pm AEST on Tuesday 11 March 2025 to claim their prize. After this date, all remaining prizes are forfeited to UAC.

Agreement and acknowledgement by UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition Entrant (for the purpose of the following clauses, referred to as “You” and “Your”, as applicable)

15. You agree that You are fully responsible for the content of the entry You submit (Content). UAC will not be liable in any way for such Content to the full extent permitted by law. UAC may remove any Content that it may display without notice for any reason whatsoever.

16. You warrant and agree that:
a) you will not submit any Content that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that UAC may deem in breach of any intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, not suitable for children aged under the age of 15, or otherwise unsuitable for publication
b) you will obtain prior consent from any person or property referenced in your Content
c) you must only submit Content which you have personally created
d) your Content shall not cause injury or harm to any person or entity; and
e) you will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation, those governing copyright, content, defamation, privacy, publicity and the access or use of others' computer or communication systems.

17. You agree to indemnify UAC against any claims that result from breaching Clause 21. UAC reserves the right to deem any entry ‘invalid’ where it reasonably suspects You have not complied with Clause 21. This is at UAC’s absolute discretion and no discussions will be entered into.

18. UAC reserves the right, at any time, to disqualify You if You submit an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or if You tamper with the entry process. Failure by UAC to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

19. By entering this competition, You assign the irrevocable right to use Your supplied name and any other details you supply in all forms and manner including but not limited to publication on the internet, broadcasts and any other publications as released to or by UAC. You understand that UAC cannot control unauthorised use of Your name and any other details you supply by persons not associated with UAC once Your name or any other details have been published. You hereby forever waive any right to inspect or approve any publication of Your name and any other details you supply by UAC.

20. In relation to prizes involving participation in any activity, UAC and its employees and agents will be fully released from and indemnified by the winner in respect of any claim for accident, injury, property damage or loss of life in connection with or as a result of a winner's acceptance of a prize.

21. UAC takes no responsibility for the loss of prizes due to Your failure to supply correct contact details or for loss during delivery of prize to the address provided by the winner.

22. UAC makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/suitability/merchantability of any of the goods/services offered as prizes. UAC will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered or sustained (including but not limited to consequential loss, loss of revenue, loss of profit or economic loss), including for personal injury or property damage suffered or sustained, as a result of accepting any prize or participation in any competition or prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

23. UAC is not responsible for lost, interrupted communications or unavailable network serves or other connections, failed telephone, mid-delivery or computer transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic.

24. UAC assumes no responsibility for any error, defect, delay, theft or unauthorised access to or alternation of entries. Subject to any written directions given under the applicable law, if for any reason, the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition is not capable of operating as planned, including infection by computer viruses, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of UAC which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the relevant competition, then UAC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the relevant competition.

25. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for UAC to use Your name and any other details for advertising, research and promotional purposes without compensation, unless otherwise prohibited by law.

26. UAC collects Your personal information in order to conduct the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition and to enable UAC to make You more aware of UAC. For these purposes UAC may disclose such information to third parties, including, but not limited to, other entrants to tell them who has entered or won the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition.

27. By participating in the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition, You give UAC the right to contact You and access, update or correct information about You that UAC holds. You can contact UAC to ask UAC not to make any further contact with You, or to delete the UAC Lifestyle and Learning Survey Competition information about You that UAC holds.
