CelebrATAR

13 Nov 2019

AS Year 12 students come to the end of their HSC exams, the time to celebrate 13 years of schooling is here.

Kim Paino, General Manager of Marketing and Engagement at the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) says, ‘It’s a huge relief for students to get to this stage of their schooling, but in all the excitement they shouldn’t forget to spend some time thinking about the next stage in their journey.’

UAC encourages all Year 12 students to re-visit their plans for 2020 and do some research on the options available to them.

If students have applied through UAC, now is the time to take another look at their course preferences and the more than 2,000 courses offered by our 27 participating institutions – even if they’ve already applied directly to institutions, are worried their ATAR won’t be high enough, or are planning to take a gap year. They could also be eligible for an Equity Scholarship or for Educational Access Schemes.

For students not getting an ATAR, they can still apply for one of the many pathway courses offered by UAC’s participating institutions.

They have until midnight next Monday 18 November to apply to be eligible to receive an offer in December Round 2 on Monday 23 December – the main round for school leavers.

Students will receive their ATAR at 1pm on Tuesday 17 December – the same day as their HSC results – and can change their course preferences up until midnight Thursday 19 December in time for December Round 2.

There’s still time to turn your dreams of tertiary study into reality.
