UAC’s leading-edge technology streamlines Western Sydney University admissions

To remain competitive in the marketplace and streamline admissions processing, Western Sydney University's Graduate Business School saw a need to implement a branded admissions process.

Western Sydney University contracted UAC to create a full-service application system that combined the University’s brand with UAC’s processing power. This process was made possible by leading-edge technology developed by UAC, in particular its UAC Connect solution, which offers a bespoke, white-label portal for institutions.

All the advantages of the centralised UAC process ... but the applicant believes the relationship is with the university.

To deliver the application portal in the three-month timeframe, UAC adopted a rapid prototyping strategy. Discrete components of the application were developed and tested in direct consultation with Western Sydney University. Regular collaboration allowed the university to interact with a functional prototype and provide direct feedback that was quickly assimilated into the development process.

Western Sydney University had full control over the look and feel of applicant communications. The UAC Connect solution included a full assessment service and was supported by comprehensive data and reporting.

Since implementation in 2015, the scope of applications taken through the portal has expanded from one faculty to include domestic postgraduate and undergraduate applications across the university. For 2018 admissions, the application has successfully serviced over 19,000 applicants.

Not only has the system generated efficiencies, but applicants have embraced the opportunity to interact with Western Sydney through the UAC Connect application system.
