About

This is a scholarship degree intended for recent domestic school leavers. Refer to Bachelor of Information Technology Co-operative Scholarship for application open and close dates.

There are a limited number of places available in this course according to the number of industry sponsors each year. Students receive a total scholarship of approximatetly $49,500 for the duration of the course.

The course includes two six-month industry-based sessions with different industry sponsors. Industry sponsors are heavily involved in the curriculum design to ensure graduates are not only highly qualified but also have the knowledge and skills relevant to the needs of industry.

Students normally secure graduate employment before completion of the course. Sponsors also actively recruit graduates from the course but students are not obliged to take up employment with a sponsor.

Business analysis, business-focused information system modelling, computing and IT fundamentals, data analytics, interaction design, networking and cybersecurity, industry-based learning.

Professional recognition

Graduates are eligible to apply for professional-level membership of the Australian Computer Society.

Essential requirements for admission

This is an intensive scholarship course intended for current school leavers, although applications are accepted from post-school applicants who completed Year 12 one year prior to application. Applicants must submit a Bachelor of Information Technology application to both UAC and UTS.

Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and involvement in extracurricular activities; it is also expected that students achieve a minimum ATAR of 85.00. Students are then chosen for interviews, and final selection is based on the result of the interview and ATAR. There are two application and interview rounds. Applicants with recent secondary education

Assumed knowledge: Mathematics Advanced, any 2 units of English.

Recommended studies: Mathematics Extension 1, English Advanced.

Portfolio: Current school leavers can support their application by submitting the Year 12 Engineering and IT Portfolio via UAC.
