In this double degree you will complete units in human biology, chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology, human physiology, food science and nutrition science, which are the necessary prerequisites for accreditation by the Dietitians Australia. A credit average in Bachelor of Science is necessary for progression into the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics. The first-year units of study of Master of Nutrition and Dietetics must be completed before you can undertake the research and professional placements
For Bachelor of Science: You will need to complete a program in nutrition and dietetics including a major in nutrition science. A minor or second major must also be taken from those available in 513910 Bachelor of Science Table A or the wide range majors offered from areas across the University in Table S. For Master of Nutrition and Dietetics: Medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, food service management.
Dietitian in private practice, community health, food service management, food industry, nutritional researcher, hospital dietitian.
The Master of Nutrition and Dietetics is currently accredited by the Dietitians Australia.
The Master of Nutrition and Dietetics includes 20 weeks of individual case management, community and food service placement training. You will also undertake research that may include laboratory work or a supervised hospital project.
The Australian Government subsidises the tuition fee for this course. The remaining balance is paid by the student. Current University of Sydney fee information.
Inherent requirements: To successfully complete this course, a student must be able to carry out a list of inherent requirements outlined on the University of Sydney website.
Assumed knowledge: For Science: Mathematics Advanced, Chemistry and Biology. Other assumed knowledge depends on major or units of study chosen.
Note: All students must take some units of study in mathematics during their undergraduate degree.
Guaranteed selection rank: This course does not have a guaranteed ATAR. For most applicants, the expected ATAR required will be 97.50 or higher.

Open Learning Environment (OLE) units are short, on-demand and workshop- supported. They enable you to broaden your skills in areas such as entrepreneurial thinking, persuasive communication, project management and ethical reasoning. OLEs are available to all students at the University, while students commencing in liberal studies degrees (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce or combined Bachelor of Advanced Studies) and some specialist degrees (Bachelor of Economics) must complete 6 credit points of OLE units.
