The Diploma of Information Technology provides students with access to the university experience within a supported context. In the introductory phase of this course, students will complete subjects specifically designed to develop effective approaches to learning in the higher education context. In sessions 2 and 3, students are provided with a range of experiences and opportunities to engage with key disciplinary areas, including programming, systems analysis and web technology.
Successful completion of the diploma provides entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Business Information Systems, the Bachelor of Computer Science, and the Bachelor of Information Technology, or first year of the Bachelor of Technology (with 18 credit points) at the University of University of Wollongong (UOW).
Diploma of Information Technology: Concepts and practice of object-oriented programming; fundamental database concepts and skills in the design and manipulation of relational databases; major information systems found in a typical business; structured programming; techniques and technologies of structured systems analysis.
