About

Learn the theoretical foundations and practical approaches to computation and its applications to the scientific world when you study a double degree in science and computer science at UOW. In addition to learning the science of computers, you will build your understanding of the natural world as you study science with subjects like biology, chemistry, ecology, geography and more.

Enhancing your educational, academic and professional qualifications, double degrees allow you to gain two degrees at once, minimising both the time commitment and cost of your studies. They also make you a more competitive candidate in a crowded job market.

Discover how climate change is impacting nature and how can we use technology to better understand and help solve the biggest issues facing our natural world. On completion of this double degree, you will be able to address these challenges and more.
You will be prepared for careers in areas such as scientific programming, scientific management and more.

You will benefit from enquiry-based learning that teaches you to constantly seek out knowledge, analyse it and apply it in your chosen profession. We integrate technology into all learning, equipping you to excel in a constantly changing and technologically advanced world. You will participate in practical classes in our purpose-built Sciences Teaching Facility in the Science Precinct of the campus or out in the field, ensuring that you have the skills and knowledge to meet the needs of tomorrow's employers.

Throughout your first year, you will study a common core of subjects across computer science and science.

Then, you will select a major from your second year of study by choosing from a range of available subjects. In your final year, you will develop your own application as part of an annual student team project in partnership with industry partners. Throughout this degree, you will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience and make professional connections.
