About

You will help support communities and be equipped for today's rapidly changing world when you study engineering and arts at UOW. You will address the fundamental questions of society as you learn how to create transport and housing systems. You will build your knowledge from our strong research base in engineering as well as your expertise in the humanities.

Learn how to design and build liveable and sustainable cities and discover what do we need to know to create a better future. On completion, you will be able to answer these questions and more as you build fundamental engineering and analytical skills from one of Australia's top engineering faculties.

You will benefit from faculty members who are driving relevant and cutting-edge research in a wide range of areas focused on providing innovative solutions to global issues. You will study a common first year as you learn engineering fundamentals across mathematics, statistics, physics, computing, engineering science and communication, mechanics and materials. You then focus on your chosen major study from the second year. Your engineering degree includes a 12-week hands-on industry placement as well as the opportunity to gain credits in relevant work experience, domestic or abroad, as part of the Professional Options Program. Our engineering degree includes honours-level content integrated into the course.

You will construct your Bachelor of Arts degree by selecting majors and minors as you develop a set of skills that relate to the discipline you are studying. You will build versatile skills in critical thinking, analysis, technical writing, cultural intelligence, and conceptual frameworks.

Areas of study

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours): Architectural, biomedical, civil, computer and autonomous systems, electrical and electronics, environmental, materials, mechanical, mechatronic, mining or telecommunications engineering and Internet of Things (IoT). ATAR profile

ATAR-based offers only (semester 1, 2024)

Use all ATAR profile data as a guide only; it provides a broad overview of the ATARs and selection ranks of previous Year 12 students admitted into that course. ATARs and selection ranks required for entry in 2024 may be different. If you are unsure about including a course among your preferences, contact the relevant institution.

  1. This ATAR profile table is in line with Commonwealth Government transparency requirements. It is based on offers to recent school leavers (ie completed Year 12 in the last 2 years) who were selected solely or partly on their ATAR. Note that some institutions further differentiate this information on their websites.
  2. The ATAR values exclude any adjustment factors.
  3. The selection ranks include the ATAR and any adjustment factors.
