From trauma and addiction counselling to counselling couples and families and addressing issues of grief and loss, today’s counsellors must deal with a very wide range of issues and be able to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts.
The Bachelor of Counselling equips you with both the theoretical knowledge and the hands-on skills needed to work effectively in a challenging and often demanding environment.
Counselling adolescents, Counselling and children, counselling couples and families, grief and loss counselling, theories and approaches to counselling, trauma and addiction counselling.
Youth work, drug and alcohol counselling, family counselling.
Notre Dame’s Bachelor of Counselling is currently seeking accreditation by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
A minimum of 128 hours on practicum placement.

All applicants must complete a Statement of Purpose that demonstrates they have the attributes and suitability requirements to undertake counselling, as required by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and the Australian Counselling Association.
All applicants must complete Notre Dame's Individual Factors Form and upload it to their UAC application.
