SAE’s Diploma of Computer Science equips you with key foundational skills and technical knowledge you need to begin your career in the technology-based industry of your choice.
Covering the fundamentals of computer science, you’ll build a skillset in scripting and automation, web development, data structures, IT and cyber security, and programming.
Your growth and development as a technology-driven computer science practitioner will be assessed through the completion of industry-based projects. This will ultimately help you build up a body of work and portfolio to share with potential employers or your first client.
To complement your technical skills, you will graduate with employability skills, introductory project management skills, and scholarly techniques for higher education.
Within a matter of months, you’ll learn the fundamentals of computer science, setting you up for entry into junior industry roles using modern concepts and strategies and positioning you for future computer science studies such as our Associate Degree or Bachelor’s program.
Data structures and algorithms, front-end web development, fundamentals of computer networks, human-computer interaction, IT and cyber security fundamentals, programming foundations, project design and the entrepreneur, scripting and automation fundamentals.

Interview: In addition to applying through UAC, all applicants are required to complete an informal interview, either in person or over the telephone. The interview helps us understand your motivations, discuss your previous study and relevant experience and career goals. Applicants will be contacted to arrange an interview time, and interviews are ongoing throughout the year.
Identification: Applicants are required to upload documentation in their application to show photo identification and proof of citizenship. Accepted forms of identification include a passport, driver's licence, birth certificate and/or citizenship certificate.
SAE courses do not have an ATAR requirement. Refer to the SAE general admission criteria.
