About

In our Bachelor of Health Sciences, you’ll explore the physical, social and environmental aspects of health and science. You’ll learn about the role of healthcare professionals and factors that influence health locally and around the world.

You’ll also be learning from academic staff with links to professional, government and corporate organisations such as the Australian Sports Commission, Cancer Council of Victoria, VicHealth and the AFL Players Association.

Through this flexible course, you can pursue up to two specialised areas, including public health, health promotion, rehabilitation counselling, and health, wellbeing and performance.

Practical experience

During this course, you will have the opportunity to participate in a Work Based Learning (WBL) placement experience, designed to allow you to extend your formal academic learning beyond the classroom. The WBL experience will provide the opportunity to bring your learning from the university into a work environment and test out your knowledge in a professional real-world environment.

Prerequisites

One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 2), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 3).

Applicants with recent secondary education

Subject adjustments: Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 subjects will have their selection rank increased by one point per study:

  • Band 3 in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 2, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), Physics;
  • Band 2 in any language other than English.

Selection ranks can be increased by a maximum of five points.
