In our Bachelor of Health Information Management, you’ll explore the clinical and business sides of healthcare. You’ll develop a comprehensive skillset in clinical classification, data analytics, health informatics and health systems management.
You’ll then deepen your technical and professional expertise through 55 days of supervised professional placement. You’ll graduate ready to work in all areas of healthcare, with an in-demand qualification accredited by the Health Information Management Association (HIMAA).

Healthcare industries, including hospitals, community health centres and specialist disease registries. Possible roles include: health information manager, clinical coder, healthcare data analyst, medical research officer.

During this course, you will participate in one or more compulsory supervised work-based learning (WBL) placements designed to allow you to practise newly acquired skills, behaviours and knowledge while integrating theory with practice. The placements will immerse you in professional work culture, enabling you to develop and further enhance your skills.
Immunisation: A schedule of mandatory immunisations are required. Students must visit a medical practitioner who will complete and sign the Immunisation and Health Record form. Further information will be provided post enrolment.
Police record check: Applicants will be required to hold a valid Police Record Check. For more information and costs refer to the Victoria Police website.
Working with Children Check: Successful applicants will be required to hold a valid Working with Children check. For information please refer to the Working with Children Check Victoria website.
First Aid and/or CPR: First Aid and/or CPR certification is required to meet the professional requirements of the degree. Further information will be provided post enrolment.
