Practical experience

Built into the Bachelor of Information Technology (Big Data and Analytics) qualification are two Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subjects, competed over two trimesters, in which students complete a Professional Placement. This is also sometimes called an ‘Internship’.

In the study period prior to the first WIL subject, our team of consultants work to secure a suitable placement that is the best fit for our student’s unique skills, interests and professional goals.

That means that ICMS graduates have work experience on their CV; a network of contacts; and the confidence to jump straight into their chosen career.

Admission criteria

Applicants with recent secondary education

Aspire Institute does not use selection ranks for admissions.

Recommended studies: Completion of NSW HSC (or equivalent) with a minimum Band 2 in English Standard or English EAL/D and a Band 2 in any one of the following suggested equivalent subjects including Mathematics Standard 2, Business Studies, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Legal Studies, Financial Services or Business Services.

ICMS does not use ATAR selection ranks for admissions. Applicants are assessed on performance in individual HSC (or equivalent) subjects and prospective applicants may be contacted by ICMS to attend an interview.
