About

Pharmacology and toxicology require an understanding of the properties of chemicals and how they interact with biological systems. You’ll learn about drugs and poisons, how they act on the body, and how to develop new medicines. You’ll learn through hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities, including an immersive virtual learning environment, and formulation, pharmacology and analytical laboratories. You'll also have the opportunity to specialise through your choice of electives or major.

This degree has a strong jobs and industry focus, providing a pathway to many new careers in pharmacology, toxicology or drug research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other health industries. Its focus on pharmacology will also provide you with an excellent foundation if you are considering a degree in an area such as medicine , pharmacy , dentistry or medical research.

Applicants with recent secondary education

Assumed knowledge: Any two units of English (Band 3); Mathematics Advanced or HSC Mathematics Extension 1 or 2 plus one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

Guaranteed ATAR: 80.00 (or IB 28). Refer to the Griffith Guaranteed Admission Scheme for details.
