The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) will prepare you for a diverse career as a professional engineer across a range of industries, locally, nationally and internationally. A variety of majors are available to choose from including Civil, Civil with Humanitarian, Electrical, Electrical with Data Analytics, Electrical with Industrial Automation, Electrical with Information Processing, Mechanical, Mechanical with Industrial Automation or Resource Systems.

The first year of this course provides opportunities for you to experience engineering projects from different disciplines which will assist you in deciding which engineering discipline and course major you wish to pursue.This course develops your problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills and incorporates project-based learning so you can graduate work ready.

Career opportunities

Professional recognition

This course is fully accredited for the Civil, Electrical, Mechanical majors by Engineers Australia at the Professional Engineer level. Also, the Civil with Humanitarian, Electrical with Data Analytics, Electrical with Information Processing, and Resource Systems Majors are provisionally accredited by Engineers Australia at the Professional Engineer level.

Practical experience

Students are required to complete 480 hours (including a minimum of 240 hours of industry experience) of Engineering Professional Practice prior to graduation.
