About

Students will gain the skills and knowledge to become a confident, ethical lawyer who can make a real contribution to the legal profession and the community. And by pairing law with commerce, they can expand their career outcomes to gain professional accreditation in human resource management, accounting, marketing and law.

Throughout this double degree students gain hands on experience – such as mooting competitions and pro bono placements. While studying commerce, they will take part in community and industry placements.

Professional recognition

This degree has been specifically developed to meet the requirements for admission to practise law. The course has been approved by the Legal Profession Admission Board (QLD),  the Legal Profession Admission Board (NSW) and the Victorian Legal Admissions Board.

Graduates are eligible for membership of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia depending on the major completed in the Bachelor of Commerce.

Practical experience

From second year, one Community Legal Engagement unit in which students undertake 80 hours in a pro bono work experience setting.
