Become a lawyer who stands up for people in need and causes that matter. At ACU, we’re committed to helping you become a confident, ethical lawyer with the legal skills and knowledge to make a real contribution to the legal profession.
Law practitioners and judges are actively involved with all aspects of our course including teaching and coaching. Students put it all into practice with mooting and pro bono work whilst studying, and gain access to a range of international opportunities throughout the degree.
Law (including commercial, constitutional, international and comparative, land and property, equity and trusts, contract, dispute resolution and human rights law).
Solicitor or barrister in private practice, legal officer in the public sector (eg in federal or state government departments and publicly funded organisations such as universities or public broadcasters), in-house counsel to a wide range of organisations from corporations to trade unions, public interest legal work in community centres, legal researcher.
This degree has been approved by accreditation authorities as a prerequisite for admission to legal practice in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, and is recognised for the purposes of admission in other Australian states and territories.
From second year, one Community Legal Engagement unit in which students undertake 80 hours in a pro bono work experience setting.
