The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) provides the opportunity for bachelor-qualified, currently practising registered nurses and registered paramedics to qualify with a Bachelor of Midwifery. Students acquire the skills and knowledge to manage normal pregnancy and childbirth and provide effective postnatal, maternal and newborn care in any maternity setting. They will learn how to provide safe and reliable care that meets the individual psychological, emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs of women and their families. Students will undertake a variety of clinical units throughout the course in maternity hospitals and community facilities. Graduates can apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
Midwifery.
Registered midwife within maternity settings, consultant midwife, clinical specialist, antenatal educator, special care nurseries, researcher, family care, independent midwifery practitioner.
This course is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Eligible graduates can apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). Read the Registration Standards for Nursing and Midwifery.
A minimum of 960 hours of professional experience and a minimum of 10 Continuity of Care Experiences are undertaken as part of this course.

Prior study status: a Bachelor of Nursing with a grade point average of at least 4.0 on the ACU seven point scale, or a Bachelor of Paramedicine with a grade point average of at least 4.0 on the ACU seven point scale.
Nursing or Paramedicine Status: be a Registered Nurse or Registered Paramedic with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) Employment Status: one year of post-registration clinical practice as a nurse, or a minimum of one year field experience as a paramedic.
Nursing Status: be a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) Employment Status: one year of post-registration clinical practice, or be a Registered Paramedic with a minimum of one year field experience.
