About

The Bachelor of High Performance Sport provides an extensive knowledge and skills base relevant to human performance from the physiological, psychological, bio-mechanical and nutritional perspectives.  Students will gain the skills to optimize sports performance through analysis, exercise programming, and the strength and conditioning of athletes. Students will also learn to design and deliver programs to enhance athletic performance and reduce the likelihood of injury and illness.

Professional recognition

This course is fully accredited with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) on the ‘Exercise Science’ level from 2021 to 2025. Graduates can apply for Level 2 accreditation with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) upon completion of appropriate coaching hours and other ASCA required documentation.

Practical experience

Up to 200 hours of professional experience are undertaken. Before students begin professional experience for this course, they should review the mandatory state or territory legal and industry policy requirements. Honours

Available as an additional year to meritorious students who wish to undertake research training to make a contribution to scholarship within a high performance setting.

Applicants with recent secondary education

Assumed knowledge: English Standard (Band 3).

Recommended studies: Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), any 2 units of mathematics or one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
