The Master of Planning degree has been designed to equip students with the professional and scholarly education to take a leadership role in statutory town planning practice as well as policy development. The Parramatta City campus, located in the centre of Sydney’s population growth area, represents a rich urban laboratory in which to explore the most important urban issues.
This two-year program in urban and regional planning is accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia. The program equips students with the professional and scholarly education to take a leadership role in statutory town planning practice as well as policy development. It has a strong emphasis on research rooted in social sciences and in the fast-growing Western Sydney region. The coursework includes learning and training in history and theory, governance, professional practice, economic development, sustainability, transport planning, spatial analysis and legal frameworks for planning.
