Your application cannot be considered unless you or the person you have authorised to act on your behalf accept all conditions set out below.

Collection and use of your personal information

On behalf of the University of Wollongong (UOW), the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) collects personal information about you, for the primary purpose of administering, processing and assessing your application for early admission to UOW. UAC provides your personal information to UOW and they may contact you in relation to your application.

While your personal information is generally collected from the information you provide in this application, UAC also collects information about you from other educational institutions that you have attended.

Your personal information will be used and managed by UAC and UOW as described below, and in accordance with UAC's Privacy Policy and UOW’s Privacy Policy.

Declaration and Authority
  1. I declare that I have read and understood the questions, and that all the information I have submitted is true and complete.
  2. I understand that if I do not provide personal information where required in my application, UAC will not be able to process my application on behalf of UOW.
  3. I authorise UAC and UOW to obtain, verify or exchange official records from any educational institution attended by me and to verify and exchange with those educational institutions any information provided by me, for the purpose of administering, processing and assessing my application. I understand that UAC is not responsible if any institution does not confirm or provide the information.
  4. I understand that UAC and UOW may check my visa and residency status using Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO), and I authorise UAC and UOW to do so.
  5. I authorise UAC and UOW to verify any information provided by me for the purpose of administering, processing and assessing my application for early admission.
  6. I authorise each of UAC and UOW to:
    1. collect, receive, store, transfer and use any information provided by me, or any information obtained in connection with this application, and
    2. disclose such information to each other, for the purpose of administering, processing and assessing my application for early admission.
  7. I authorise each of UAC and UOW to disclose my personal information to Australian state or federal government regulatory bodies, where UAC or UOW is requested or lawfully required to make such disclosure.
  8. I authorise UOW to disclose the outcome of my early admission application to my educational institution and I understand that I must notify UOW in writing if I do not wish for this information to be disclosed.
  9. I understand that UAC or UOW may disclose the personal information I have given in this application to the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, or its successor, for the purpose of:
    1. use in connection with the Tertiary Collection of Student Information (TCSI) and/or
    2. use in connection with the National Data Collection on University Applications and Offers and/or
    3. other collections as the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, or its successor, may lawfully require from time to time.
  10. I understand that my personal information may be used by UAC to administer UOW Reach marketing campaigns which aim to provide me with additional information about courses available at UOW.
  11. I understand that I have a right to access my personal information held by UAC or UOW. If I have any questions or wish to obtain access to my information, I should write to: The Managing Director, UAC, Locked Bag 112, SILVERWATER NSW 2128, or Manager, Information Compliance, Building 36 Northfields Avenue, University of Wollongong NSW 2522.
  12. I understand that UAC and UOW have the right to vary or cancel an application or enrolment made on the basis of what UAC or UOW determines to be untrue or incomplete information from any source.
  13. I understand that UAC, on behalf of UOW, makes offers based on the information provided by me and on advice received from UAC. If UOW subsequently finds that the information or advice was incorrect, it may withdraw the offer.
  14. I understand that information and documents provided with and/or obtained in connection with this application may be used by UAC or UOW for training and research purposes, or for communicating with me for the purpose of marketing UOW events, degrees and courses. I understand that I must notify UAC or UOW in writing if I do not wish for my information to be used for these purposes.
  15. I understand that enrolment at the University of Wollongong is conditional upon accepting the policies, terms and conditions of the University of Wollongong, including those pertaining to academic integrity.

Policy statement on untrue or incomplete information submitted by applicants

UAC will review, and take action against, anyone who submits an application that contains information that UAC or UOW determines to be untrue or incomplete. That application may also be cancelled.

UAC will also investigate, and may take action against, an applicant who, by any other means has or could have achieved an advantage over other applicants.

Examples of conduct by an applicant which will be investigated by UAC include, but are not limited to:

  • submitting an incomplete or falsified academic transcript
  • failing to declare previous study at secondary, post-secondary or tertiary level
  • submitting an incorrect or otherwise misleading statement of employment experience
  • claiming special consideration of educational disadvantage based on incorrect information
  • having some other person complete a selection task on the applicant's behalf such as an interview, audition or a portfolio of work and/or
  • claiming membership of a special selection group when not a member of that group.

The procedures for processing applications suspected of being in some way incomplete or untrue have been approved by the NSW Vice-Chancellors' Committee.

These procedures accept the right of applicants to be treated fairly and without prejudice, and in accordance with the principles of natural justice.
