Help make revolutionary advances in the biomedical sciences when you study bionanotechnology at UOW. You will explore principles from biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics to understand biological processes at the molecular level in this emerging field. What scientific challenges do we face today? How can Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics help solve the problems of the future? With the Bachelor of Bionanotechnology (Honours) (Dean’s Scholar) you will answer these questions and more as you will enter an interdisciplinary career in biotech industry, pharmaceutical industry, academic biomedical research, government policy, patent law, and many other fields.
You will learn from scientists who are leading researchers in their fields, giving you knowledge and skills to apply to real-world challenges today and in the future. In your final year, you will undertake a substantial piece of supervised research, along with coursework. You will practice 'enquiry-based learning' where you are constantly seeking out knowledge, analysing it and applying it in your chosen profession. With technology integrated into all your learning, you will be equipped with the skills required to excel in a constantly changing and technologically advanced world. As a Dean’s Scholar, you will be invited to participate in networking, enrichment and mentoring opportunities that will give you a valuable edge when entering the job market.
You will study in our purpose-built Sciences Teaching Facility in the Science Precinct or out in the field, ensuring that you have the knowledge to meet the needs of tomorrow's employers.
