About

In our Bachelor of Computer Science, you'll gain the technical skills you need to adapt to emerging technologies in an increasingly digital world. You'll choose from three majors: artificial intelligence, software engineering or cloud analytics.

You'll also get access to our expert research centres, including the Centre for Technology Infusion, the Optus Cyber Security Research Centre and a state-of-the-art research lab for the Internet of Things – one of the largest in Victoria, and proudly developed in collaboration with Microsoft and CISCO.

Practical experience

During this course, you will have the opportunity to participate in a Work Based Learning (WBL) placement experience, designed to allow you to extend your formal academic learning beyond the classroom. Prerequisites

One of English Advanced (Band 2) or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 3) plus Band 2 in one of Mathematics Standard 1, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced or Mathematics Extension 2.

Admission criteria

Applicants with recent secondary education

Subject adjustments: Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 subjects will have their selection rank increased by one point per study:

  • Band 3 in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Engineering Studies, Mathematics Standard 1, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 2, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), Physics, Software Design and Development;
  • Band 2 in any Language other than English.

Selection ranks can be increased by a maximum of five points.
