Our Bachelor of Design and Visual Communication is about much more than visual aesthetics, providing you with a detailed understanding and hands-on experience of the role of design in the contemporary world. You’ll explore branding and identity design, online and print design, digital image-making and user-centred design.
This course will allow you to flourish in a rapidly changing world, giving you the skills to apply design-led solutions to a wide range of communication challenges. You'll be equipped to come up with creative solutions to complex solutions in almost any context.
At SAE, you will engage in virtual collaborative learning. You’ll apply theoretical knowledge through studio best-practices and access the latest software like the Adobe Creative Suite as well as have the option to access on-campus facilities.

SAE offers extensive hands-on training with industry work placements, to provide practical experience and help build a professional network. Interview: In addition to applying through UAC, all applicants are required to complete an informal interview, either in person or over the telephone. The interview helps us understand your motivations, discuss your previous study and relevant experience and career goals. Applicants will be contacted to arrange an interview time, and interviews are ongoing throughout the year.
Identification: Applicants are required to upload documentation in their application to show photo identification and proof of citizenship. Accepted forms of identification include a passport, driver's licence, birth certificate and/or citizenship certificate.
SAE courses do not have an ATAR requirement. Refer to the SAE general admission criteria.
