Primary school teacher specialized in on of the primary curriculum teaching areas. Choose from Creative Arts; English; Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE); Mathematics; Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), and Science and Technology. Admission criteria

Applicants with recent secondary education

Assumed knowledge: Three Band 5 results, including English, in the NSW HSC or equivalent.

Charles Sturt University courses are designed and accredited with alternative entry as all students undertake core discipline studies in the first two years of study equivalent to three Band 5 results, including English and mathematics, before undertaking curriculum and professional studies.

Recommended studies: Mathematics Advanced.

Minimum ATAR: 65.00.

Applicants with higher education study

Successful completion of at least two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.

Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study

  • A completed AQF Certificate III (or higher) at an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
  • 50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification at an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
