The Bachelor of Music nurtures outstanding musical artistry through the intersection of performance, composition and technology. We believe that discovery lies at the heart of both creativity and excellence. Our program provides students with a unique 21st century musical experience which includes classical, jazz and contemporary performance, multimedia composition and audio engineering and recording.

The Australian Government pays part of the tuition fee for this course. The remaining balance is paid by the student. Information about ANU student contributions.
Audition: Entry to performance major is based on meeting both the minimum selection rank and a successful assessment of suitability via audition.

Co-Curricular or Service Experience (Year 12 or IB applicants only): The Co-Curricular or Service Experience requirement has been removed from the application process for 2025 admissions. This change will make ANU more accessible to Year 12 students looking to join ANU. You don’t need to submit any additional documents regarding this change.
Minimum selection rank: 80.00. Due to the competitive nature of our admissions process, we cannot guarantee entry to applicants who meet the minimum selection rank for their preferred program.
