About

As a primary teacher you will have a creative, challenging and rewarding career helping and inspiring children to develop important lifelong skills. You will become adept at managing social, cultural and developmental diversity. You can choose from a range of subject specialisations in English, mathematics, health and physical education, Indigenous education, language (Spanish or Italian), science and technologies, religious education, the arts or Indigenous education available to First Peoples.

The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and the ACT Teacher Quality Institute require students to pass the National Literacy and Numeracy Test prior to completing the final professional experience placement.

All students in initial teacher education courses must meet the LANTITE test standard prior to graduation. You need to demonstrate once that you have met the standard for each test component (literacy and numeracy) before you undertake your final teaching placement. Test results are transferrable and do not expire.

Transferring into an ITE course from another institution, does not reset your LANTITE sitting allowance. If you have not met the standard for either component after your first attempt, it is very important that you contact the Course Coordinator immediately to discuss your options.

ATAR profile

ATAR-based offers only (semester 1, 2023)

Note that some institutions further differentiate this information on their websites.
  2. The ATAR values exclude any adjustment factors.
