What we do

The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) builds admission systems and provides bespoke services for universities across NSW and ACT. We’re the largest tertiary admissions centre in Australia, and we’re recognised as the leader in technology platforms within our industry.

We have exciting national-scale projects underway, building brand-new systems that solve complex problems and drive efficiency improvements for our clients and the sector. We are leveraging various technology solutions such as integration APIs, Elasticsearch, Verifiable Credentials and Blockchain/DLT.

UAC has experienced significant double-digit growth and expansion of market share and capability. We’re looking for multiple Senior Engineers, both back-end and front-end, to contribute to UAC’s ongoing success.

About our team

We’re dedicated to agile practices. We’re dynamic. We move fast. We’re high performing.

We have a flat team structure where we value diversity in all aspects of our work and everyone’s opinion counts. We’re constantly learning, adapting and growing. We seek improvement, are proactive in nature and experts in our field.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on new greenfield projects that will be a game-changer in the industry.

We focus on the tasks, not technologies

Here’s how we roll on a daily basis:

  • All solution designs are completely serverless!
  • The back-end is entirely built on AWS serverless stack using Lambda, DynamoDB, Cognito, and other AWS services.
  • We build simple, modern, UX focused front-end application using React and Ant Design, or Angular and Material.
  • We store data with Ingres, MySQL and Elasticsearch.

We’re continuing to work from home, and we have the technology platforms and ethos to ensure we all stay connected!

About you

We’d love you to have:

  • experience in back-end development using Java or related language, or experience in front-end development with React/Angular. If you can do both it’s even better.
  • a keen interest in experimenting with new technologies
  • an understanding of how to build simple, testable, easy-to-maintain code
  • an ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members.
