About

Discover the biological basis of behaviour and learn how the brain links to who we are and how we think, feel, act and change when you study psychological science and neuroscience at UOW. You will scientifically study the human mind and its functions as you gain an in-depth understanding of the molecular, neural and cognitive functions, and develop a solid grounding in the investigative research methods used in the area.

Discover what underlies the physiological, sensory and cognitive processes of the human experience and how behaviour is linked to the brain? On completion, you will be able to address these challenges and more as you help improve wellbeing and psychological health using evidence-based psychological treatments and a solid understanding of how the brain works.

Throughout your degree you will be an active scientist, delving into diverse fields such as anatomy, biochemistry, psychopharmacology, and neuroscience. You will learn core scientific skills in writing research reports, laboratory work, scientific communication, and the scientific knowledge that will help you explore the biological foundations of human behaviour.

You will learn how the science and practice of psychology is influenced by social, historical, professional and cultural contexts. Throughout this double degree, you will gain hands-on experience and make meaningful professional connections through in-depth research opportunities using integrated learning methods. You will gain a partial qualification for provisional registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and be provided a route to Postgraduate coursework or research degrees in Psychology when you complete your Bachelor of Psychological Science.
