Exercise and sports science explores human movement and how it applies to physical activity. Advances in research and technology related to sports and exercise are
constantly revealing new ways to optimise human performance, fitness and health.  UNE’s Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science will help you to maintain your on-the-pulse professionalism in this dynamic
industry.

You will future proof your career by gaining critical knowledge in areas such as biomechanics, exercise physiology, human nutrition and sport psychology. You will hone your logical, critical and creative thinking abilities and put your skills into practice in the design, implementation and evaluation of exercise and physical activity for healthy people.

Anatomy, biomechanics, exercise/human physiology, exercise/sport science, motor control and learning.

Career opportunities

Cardiac, respiratory or sleep technician in hospitals, coach or development officer with an institute of sport, sporting team or association, strength and conditioning specialist working with athletes and sporting teams, health consultant or educator in schools or government, corporate health consultant in industrial/mining, employee wellbeing or employment screening, consultant in aged care facilities.

Practical experience

140 hours of practicum experience in the community, undertaken in final trimester.

Applicants with recent secondary education

Assumed knowledge: Mathematics Advanced, Personal Development Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) and/or any 2 units of science.

Recommended studies: Biology and/or chemistry.
