About

The Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology is a four-year degree that develops expert knowledge about how exercise can improve health and wellbeing and manage chronic disease.

The degree prepares students for an exciting career as an accredited exercise physiologist (AEP), one of the fastest-growing group of allied health professionals in Australia, and includes a significant clinical placement as part of the degree.

The course will build knowledge and expertise to assess, prescribe and deliver exercise programs to assist clients better manage their health.

Professional recognition

This course is undergoing accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and will give graduates professional recognition as an Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) and as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).

Practical experience

Students complete more than 500 hours of clinical placement for valuable work integrated learning. This work integrated learning is completed at the Southern Cross University Health Clinic and external locations including hospitals, local government and private health providers. The University has an important focus on both urban and rural and remote health.

Applicants with recent secondary education

Recommended studies: Any 2 units of English, any 2 units of Mathematics plus one or more of Biology; Chemistry; Physics; Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE).
