The Associate Degree of Engineering (Civil Construction) is structured around 16 key competencies identified by Engineers Australia as being essential to the graduating engineer, which are broadly grouped into knowledge and skills, application, personal and professional skills.
Students develop practical skills and knowledge across the breadth of disciplines encompassed by civil engineering, including construction, project management, and transport engineering.
The course is suited to school leavers or those with a trade qualification who are looking to enter the civil construction industries in a supervisory, project management or technical role, or progress their careers in these industries to the next level.

Double degree/Combined degree
The University offers double degrees in law with business, arts, or psychological science, double degrees in business with arts, engineering or information technology, as well as a combined degree in exercise science and psychological science. When you complete a double degree, you are awarded two separate degrees (eg Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts). Combined degrees are multidisciplinary and when completed you are awarded one single degree that
has two disciplines (eg Bachelor of Exercise Science and Psychological Science).
