Undergraduate Certificates were introduced by the Commonwealth Government in 2020 to upskill and retrain Australians through access to short duration qualifications at University level. Undergraduate Certificates will cease to be available from 30th June 2025. This means you must successfully complete your studies by the end of Term 1 2025 for your award to be conferred by 30 June 2025.
The Undergraduate Certificate of Engineering will introduce you to the fundamental concepts of engineering, mathematical modelling, and physics.
The certificate is equivalent to the first session of an undergraduate degree. If you successfully complete the certificate and meet all entry requirements, you can progress directly into the second session of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with specialisations in Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering. Alternatively, you can progress into the Diploma of Engineering and upon successful completion, transition to the second year of selected undergraduate degrees.
