About

Turn your love of horses into your career with the Bachelor of Equine Science from Charles Sturt University – one of only two Bachelor of Equine Science degrees in Australia. This course will prepare you for a successful career in equine health, welfare, breeding, equitation science, training, nutrition, performance, rehabilitation, teaching, research or business.  

Alongside a choice of elective subjects, you could also choose to do a business management major. This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge you’ll need to make evidence-based decisions in equine and animal-related industries, ensuring you’ll be job-ready when you graduate. 

Charles Sturt University offers world-leading technology and facilities, including a high-speed treadmill and reproduction barn and laboratory. and equine isolation unit. The Equine Centre has six stable blocks, covered yards and handling facilities, an indoor arena, several outdoor arenas and an undercover horse walker.

The Business Management specialisation also includes advertising and marketing, business law, financial management, human resources, property planning

Practical experience

Essential requirements for admission

Q Fever vaccination: Q Fever vaccinations are compulsory; vaccination clinics will be arranged on campus for on campus students in first year. Online students should consult with their doctor or look at the Q Fever Register webpage to find a nearby vaccinator.

Orientation Week, prior to the start of session 1, includes compulsory activities for on campus students only.
