About

The Bachelor of Nursing from Charles Sturt University has led the way for nurses for more than 40 years. Designed in close association with industry, this course provides the essential skills and knowledge to become a registered nurse. Students learn in a broad range of contexts and with patients across the lifespan. They will also be able to think creatively and critically as a reflective and ethical practitioner, educator and facilitator. This course also provides an understanding of Indigenous Australian cultures, international and national perspectives of primary health care, law, mental health nursing, aged care nursing, family health care, chronic and acute care and much more.

From emergency situations to post-procedure care, nurses are needed in public and private hospitals and health facilities, community health centres, defence forces, primary and secondary industries, insurance, justice health, mental health, and workplace health and safety. Use your knowledge and skills to conduct research and improve and advance patient care practice. After graduating with the Bachelor of Nursing, you have the opportunity to specialise in any area of nursing that interests you.

Admission criteria

Applicants with recent secondary education

Assumed knowledge: English Standard, any 2 units of science.

Recommended studies: Biology, Mathematics Advanced, Chemistry, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), WorkCover-approved first aid certificate, Mental Health First Aid course.
