By obtaining a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, you will have skills and knowledge to collaborate with individuals, groups and communities – to encourage participation and engagement in meaningful activities to improve health and wellbeing.  

Our four-year, full-time occupational therapy degree gives you a detailed understanding of the theoretical and practical components of the discipline. You'll study physiology and how the human anatomy works, so you can make informed decisions when you graduate and confidently step into the workforce and begin a rewarding career as an occupational therapist. 

Occupational therapists focus on developing and maintaining people's abilities to carry out activities by helping them to develop new skills, change their environment or modify their activities with knowledge of behavioural, social and biomedical sciences.

Career opportunities

Work as an occupational therapist in remote, rural, regional and metropolitan locations in a wide range of fields and practice settings. Including aged care worker, occupational therapist, program development officer, youth worker.

Professional recognition

This course is approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council Ltd (OTC) and approved by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTBA). To work as an occupational therapist, you must register for practice with OTBA. 

This course is professionally accredited by Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Practical experience

More than 1,000 hours of fieldwork in a range of health, community, education, private practice and other settings. Travel, accommodation and related expenses for practical placements are the responsibility of the student.

An integrated honours program is available for high achieving students.
