Your UAC PIN and application number
Your UAC Personal Identification Number (PIN) has four digits.
2017 NSW HSC applicants/ACT Year 12 applicants – your UAC PIN was emailed to the email address you registered with NESA (previously called BOSTES).
All other applicants – your UAC PIN is the first four digits of your date of birth (day and month). For example, if your birthday is 3 October, your UAC PIN is 0310; if your birthday is 17 May, your UAC PIN is 1705.
You'll need your UAC PIN to:
- check your ATAR (if you're a 2017 NSW HSC or ACT Year 12 applicant)
- apply for tertiary study
- log in to your application (eg to change your preferences)
- check your offer.
Keep your UAC PIN in a safe and secure place and don't give your UAC PIN to anyone else. We recommend that you log in to your application and change your UAC PIN after you've applied.
If your PIN doesn't work
If you are a 2017 NSW HSC student, check that you are using your UAC PIN and not your NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) PIN.
If you're using the correct number and still experiencing difficulties, you can call us on 1300 275 822 (from mobiles on (02) 9752 0200 or from overseas on +61 2 9752 0200) between 8.30am and 4.30pm (Sydney time) Monday to Friday.
If you lose or forget your PIN
For privacy reasons, we cannot re-issue your UAC PIN.
However, if you have completed the personal details section of your application and been issued with an application number, you can reset your PIN.
Access the application login page and click the ‘Forgotten your PIN?’ link under 'Manage your application', then follow the prompts to receive an email containing a link to reset your PIN.
Otherwise, call us between 8.30am and 4.30pm (Sydney time) Monday to Friday on 1300 275 822 (from mobiles on (02) 9752 0200 or from overseas on +61 2 9752 0200).
UAC application number
Your UAC application number has nine digits and is emailed to you when you apply. It will also be recorded on your Confirmation of Application. You'll need your 2017–18 UAC application number to log in to your application and to view your offers. You can't use an application number from a previous year.
If you lose or forget your UAC application number
If you've printed your Confirmation of Application, your UAC application number will be on this.
Alternatively, call UAC between 8.30am and 4.30pm (Sydney time) Monday to Friday on 1300 275 822 (from mobiles on (02) 9752 0200 or from overseas on +61 2 9752 0200). You’ll need to answer some identification questions, then you’ll be given your UAC application number.
