Special requirements

Special requirements and policies apply to students in health/welfare-related and teacher education courses. These requirements relate to:

  • clinical/internship placements undertaken as part of your course
  • proof of English lanaugage proficiency accreditation and procedures for employment after you have completed the course.

Note that the Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT) is mandatory for medicine and some health science degrees.

There are also courses with additional selection criteria, such as a personal statement, questionnaire, portfolio, audition, an interview or test. Check for details in the individual course descriptions available through the course search.

If you are completing the NSW HSC, check individual course descriptions available through the course search for any course prerequisites. For interstate students, read 2016 interstate Year 12 students to see how your courses compare with NSW HSC subjects.

Requirements and policies in these areas are subject to regular review. For further information, read the relevant course descriptions available through the course search and check the specific entry requirements for each institution.
