How and when to apply

Applications for 2016–17 open at 9am on Wed 3 Aug 2016.

The online Apply application takes around 30 minutes to complete.

You can only submit one application to UAC International. If you change your mind about the courses you are applying for, you can change them using Check & Change. Your application is valid until July 2017.

Before you apply, make sure you have an up-to-date browser and that you can access Apply – remember to do this well before closing dates.

How to apply

To complete the application you'll need:

  • your personal details (name, address, email address, telephone number)
Make sure the name you enter on your application matches the name on your official ID (birth certificate, citizenship documents, passport). You'll need your ID when you enrol and there may be problems if the name on your ID doesn't match your offer letter. Also ensure your email address is correct and don't use a school or shared email address. After you apply you'll need to check your email regularly for important information about your application.
  • your board of studies student number and your UAC PIN
A nine-digit UAC application number will be generated after you input your personal details.
  • a list of your chosen course codes
Check the course search for exact closing dates. If a course is listed as closed you won't be able to add it to your preferences. You can choose up to six courses.
  • access to a printer for important documents – Confirmation of Application and payment receipt.
  • a way to pay for your application.
You have a number of options to pay for the processing charge: credit/debit card (MasterCard and Visa), PayPal, Australia Post Billpay or BPAY (in Australia only). All fees paid to UAC in connection with your application are not refundable under any circumstances except as required by law.

Be aware that you'll need to accept a declaration at the end of your application.

To continue an application you've already started, go to Apply, choose 'Continue my application' and log in using your UAC application number and UAC PIN.

After you apply you can manage and track your application through our Check & Change service. Go to Check & Change regularly to check for correspondence from UAC.

When to apply

With a single application, you can apply for courses starting throughout the year. Once you have applied, you can change your courses until June 2017. Applications close for all courses on Wednesday 28 June 2017.

Check key dates for application and offer dates.

If you want to be considered for admission to semester 1 courses (starting in February/March 2017), you're encouraged to apply by Monday 31 October 2016. However, applications will be accepted until Sunday 29 January 2017 for semester 1 courses.

You can apply for semester 2 courses at any time during the admissions period. However, many institutions add semester 2 courses to the course search throughout the year.

You can receive updates on important UAC dates and events by liking UAC on Facebook, following @UACinfo on Twitter or signing up for our newsletter.

Early closing dates

Some courses, particularly those with additional selection criteria, have early closing dates. This means that you must have the course in your list of courses by the closing date. You cannot select a course after it has closed.

Check the course descriptions through the course search for courses with early closing dates.
