Regional bonus points
Some UAC institutions apply bonus points if you live in a designated region, others apply bonus points if you attend school in a designated region, and some institutions do both. These are regional bonus points and they are awarded automatically – you do not need to apply separately.
Bonus points do not change your ATAR; they change your selection rank for a particular course or institution.
A list of the institutions that will allocate regional bonus points for 2017–18 admissions will be available in early November 2017.
As a guide, these institutions have previously allocated regional bonus points based on where you live (ie your permanent address):
- Australian Catholic University
- Charles Sturt University
- Griffith University
- La Trobe University
- Macquarie University
- University of New England
- University of Newcastle (midwifery courses only)
- Western Sydney University
